SOLD- Please see my other listing! - This beautifully engraved 1966 Pointer game gun is little used in excellent condition and a real pleasure to shoot. This was the last year of production of the Pointer. Gino Cargnel started working with FN engraving under Felix Funken in 1951. By the early 1960s he was one of the top high-grade engravers under Vrancken and Watrin. His anatomically correct animals, tight even scrolls and subtle use of shading and background detail make the scenes jump out to life. The checkering is fine and superb as these guns before 1967 were. This gun was ordered through Abercombie and Fitch and is engraved so on the 28 inch barrels. Mod and Full choke. 14 1/8 in LOP to excellent pigskin recoil pad, 1 7/16 DAC and 2 1/4 DAH, which was pretty standard for these guns. Excellent wood condition 98% plus and metal 98%.
Most desirable round knob, long tang and Y upper tang. 1966 was pre-salt and the last year the Pointer was offered as a catalog item. Recently stripped and cleaned and ready to hunt, or shoot clays. I have enjoyed shooting a few rounds of clays with it with "low gun" mount, as it is very dynamic handling. I am including a new leather trimmed Negrini "luxury" case ($400) for it.

This gun was magna-ported, which has never bothered me when shooting, but because of this I have priced the gun accordingly as some people don't care for porting.
