Browning B25 20 Gauge – TRADITIONAL MODEL W/GOLD, 99% AS NEW, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Browning, Year 1996, 20 Gauge, 6lbs, Chokes IC/IM, LOP 14 3/8", DAH 2 3/16", DAC 1 3/8" Serial Number: 324NV02484 The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most brilliant designs. Produced in plain-jane field grades to the most elaborately engraved and finely stocked shotguns ever seen, production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when traditional production stopped. Production continued in the FN Custom Shop with the Presentation Series through 1984. Today, most Americans are unaware that you can still buy a Belgium made, hand-fitted Superposed Browning B25, as they are not offered at most Browning dealers, and most are sold in Great Britain and Europe. In fact, 20% of all guns at the British “castle” shoots (driven bird shoots) are Browning B25 guns, making it the second most popular gun of any maker being used by the elite gunners in Great Britain. This amazing B25 is the “Traditional Model with Gold”, sn324NV02484 built in 1996, and remains in new condition in all ways. This is quite a well-thought out Superposed, with 28” LM/IM field choked barrels, the action is rounded like the Superlight actions and is fully case colored and hand engraved with gold wire inlays (signed by the engraver Augustus Poe), and the wood is nicely figured English walnut with very attractive fiddleback figure and the most desirable round knob, long tang configuration with a delightful Schnabel forend. The gun weighs 6lbs. and balances just ahead of the hinge pin, and nothing has been altered on the gun since it left the FN factory. The finishes are all factor original, with over 99% blue on the barrels, over 99% case color on the action and trigger guard, and the original factory oil finish on the wood a solid 99%+++ percent. The mechanics are excellent with the barrels still tight on the hinge pin and breech face and top lever that is way right of center. This gun has not been shot more than a few times. The gun came to us in a proper box, but it appears to have the serial number inked in over another, so not sure if it is factory correct to the gun. All of the original paperwork documenting the gun is included as shown in the photos. The Traditional can still be custom ordered at a cost of $18,000 without gold, and over $19,000 with the gold wire inlays. You can own this one at a fraction of that price and it is essentially a new gun. Not only that, you will avoid the 1 year plus wait for a newly ordered B25 Superposed. Thanks for looking!
