Browning Superposed 12 ga. 30"
circa 1953
Description:
Browning Belgian Superposed 12 gauge shotgun. Made in 1953 this Superposed has 30” vent rib barrels that were originally M/F and now they are Skeet I (.006”) and Skeet II (.011”) with a single selective trigger and non-auto safety.
The stock and forearm are custom, similar in design and checkering but both pieces have definitely been replaced with beautifully grained walnut. The long tang, custom checkered flat grip buttstock has a 14 ¼” LOP over a 1” pad but the LOP feels longer due to the position of the trigger. The stock has a 1 3/8” DAC and 2 ¼” DAH with ¼” right hand cast. I think the gun originally had a longer, trap style forearm and was replaced with a field style.
Receiver blue and barrel blue look original and it is 90-95% with bottom and edge wear. The trigger guard has been reblued.
Mechanically the gun is extremely tight and in good shape. Bores are bright and shiny and still .725”
