The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most admired inventions.  Browning Superposed were built in Belgium from 1931 through 1976 when regular production ended.   As you compare this gun to others, keep in mind that the most desirable Superposed guns are the long tang, round knob guns built before 1967.  This Superposed, sn25252 S4 was built in 1964 before the change to the short tang trigger guard and the beginning of the “salt-wood debacle”.  Guns built after 1966 were prone to salt contamination and rust because of the way Browning cured their wood.  Not all guns were affected, but the marketplace still has an aversion to the later guns with short tangs built from 1967 to about 1971. The gun is all factory original and in 99% condition with only a few light handling marks in the stock finish.  She has the original length stock with factory butt plate.  BEST OF ALL THE FACTORY FITTED THIS SUPERPOSED WITH WELL FIGURED EUROPEAN WALNUT…FAR BETTER THAN MOST GRADE I’s YOU WILL SEE. This is a great upland and/or skeet gun that will provide years of flawless performance for the new owner.  We have a factory correct Browning Airways hard case available if you wish to have it cased.  We have several from $250 to $425.  The value of these earlier Superposed guns continues to climb, so you can invest in this gun and enjoy its use as it gains value.  To find a 99% Belgium made Superposed from the pre-salt era with exceptional wood is really a treasure.  See specifications below.  Thanks for looking!
