Browning Superposed Lighting 12ga - AS NEW, CASED, LTRK, 1958
Description: Browning Superposed Lighting 12 Gauge O/U AS NEW, CASED, LTRK, 1958 General Specs: Browning, Belgium, Year 1958, 12 Gauge, 7lbs, O/U Serial Number: 60190 This is the venerable Browning Superposed Lightning Model in Grade 1 with hard to find field chokes. Most of these guns are found with skeet chokes and are less desirable. As you compare this gun to others, keep in mind that the most desirable Superposed guns are the long tang, round knob guns built before 1966. This Superposed, sn60190 was built in 1958. The Lightning Model was considerably lighter than the Standard model, making it a superb upland bird gun for carrying long distance and long hours. With the most desirable 28" barrels choked M/F, this 7lb. 12ga. gun is all factory original and is as new with the original length stock with factory horn butt plate. COMES IN THE PROPER VINTAGE HARTMAN CASE THAT IS ALSO AS NEW. Guns built after 1966 were prone to salt contamination and rust because of the manner in which Browning cured their wood. Not all guns were affected, but the market place still has an aversion to the later guns with short tangs, and some even with square knob pistol grips. This is a great upland gun that is balanced to perfection and light enough to carry all day afield. The value of these earlier Superposed guns continues to climb, so you can invest in this gun and enjoy its use as it gains value. To find an as new Belgium made Superposed from 1958 is really a treasure. Thanks for looking!
