Description: Early production Browning Superposed serial number 3771 was made in 1932. It has 28-inch 28 gauge vent rib Simmons skeet barrels made by Cordy in Liege, Belgium. The action has light border engraving and the bluing is in good condition. Equipped with double triggers and ejectors. The round knob pistol grip stock and beavertail forearm are made of nicely figured European walnut and the beavertail has the metal horseshoe foreplate typical of the Superposeds of that era. The stock has its original factory Browning buttplate. Comes in a Browning case. Good mechanical and cosmetic condition. Gun weighs 7lb 6oz.
The 28” Simmons barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” 28 gauge shotshells and marked Skeet choke. The bores are shiny and bright and the bluing is in very good condition. They are topped by a raised ventilated hand crosshatched rib and have no side ribs. The left side of the top barrel is marked “Cordy – Made in Liege – Belgium” and below that “Exclusively for Simmons Gun Specialties, KC., MO.”
The round knob stock and beavertail are made of nicely figured European walnut and appear to have been recently refinished. The checkering has been refreshed.
