Rare Browning Superposed Pigeon Grade Superlight - Superb condition with original case!
Description: Made in 1974, this is one of approximately 88 12ga Pigeon Grades produced in this configuration. The gun has 26 - 5/16" barrels with narrow, ventilated rib marked for IC and mod. Browning Ogden and Montreal addresses and "MADE IN BELGIUM" are on left side of top barrel and "BROWNING SUPERPOSED". The gun has 2-3/4" chambers and is choked I/C and Mod. Coin finished "Superlight" action with gold plated single selective trigger is engraved in usual "Pigeon" style with pairs of pigeons flying through a field of simple scroll on sides. Rose bouquets are on bottom, and trigger guard has scroll engraving. Fences are nicely carved with oak leaves and acorns. Stump figured American walnut straight grip superlight buttstock measures 14 - 1/4" over original Browning butt plate and has drops of 1-9/16 DAC and 2-1/4" DAH. One piece Schnabel forend matches well. Tan Hartman case contains a key. The gun weighs a mere 6lbs 12oz. The gun remains in excellent all original condition showing only very limited field use. Barrels retain nearly all of their original blue with a spot or two of minor touch up. Action is superb with only a hint of staining. Stocks retain most original finish. Mechanically the gun is perfect. Case is excellent. A scarce Browning ready to go afield again. A perfect pheasant gun, and highly collectible, too! The gun is priced at $ Sold shipped to your FFL. Please dont hesitate to email me or call with any questions. I can be reached at (704) 280-2382 with any questions on the gun. SOLD |
