Browning Midas grade 1974 in case
Description:
Sold pending funds***The Browning Superposed are hand-fitted shotguns that were made by some of the best craftsman in Europe to Browning's high standard of excellence. And only master craftsmen and women were allowed to work on these wonderful examples of Browning’s finest offering. This Midas grade Superposed, in 12 ga, is a wonderful example of the best of the best. Made in 1974, after the salt problems had passed, this beautiful field gun is truly a great product of the Belgian craftsmen at their peak of artistic production, being only one of three 26-1/2" Midas grades made that year. This gun was engraved by lead engraver Rene Coenen, engraving the three 18 carat gold pheasants on the left side, and R Lemarchand did the three gold ducks on the right side. This is a long tang gun with one of the best figured stocks to be put on any Browning that displays checkering of 28 lines per inch terminating in a wing shape of flawless checkering at the back of the stock's grip. It has tasteful engraving on the top of the barrels with Full/Mod chokes and 2-3/4" chambers and hand filed top rib. It weighs 7lbs. and is all factory original and still 100% of its overall condition, showing no evidence of ever being shot. There is one minor handling mark from 45 years of admiring this gorgeous piece in the left center of the stock. It comes in a period Airways case that was purchased new with the gun. Highly desirable and wonderfully built to last, the value of these high grade Superposed guns continues to rapidly climb so there's no better time than the present to buy one.
