Browning 12 Gauge - SUPERPOSED PIGEON GRADE TRAP, BELGIAN MADE, HAND ENGRAVED, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Browning, Year 1969, 12 Gauge, 8lb 3oz, Chokes .026/.035 IM/F, LOP 13 1/2", DAH 1 7/16", DAC 1 1/4" Serial Number: 57536 S69 Browning Superposed Pigeon Grade trap guns were built for shooting, a lot of shooting. Pigeon guns were and still are very high quality and robustly made to handle the constant recoil of stiff pigeon loads. Manufactured with heavy loads in mind these guns are well built and sturdy. All Browning Pigeon Grade trap guns have high grade wood, fit, finish and the engravings are Browning's usual excellence. Manufactured in Belgium in 1969, this is a salt wood era gun and exhibits some minor salt signs. This over/under features double Bradley bead sights on the matte vent rib and 2 3/4 inch chambers. The gun is choked with the desirable combination of IC/F in a mirror bore and fitted with ejectors. The receiver, trigger guard and break lever are engraved with fine scroll patterns; floral bouquets on the bottom of the receiver, two pigeons in flight on each side of the action, and Browning's leaf design adorns the upper edge of the receiver. The 30" barrels hold all their original factory blue and the remaining parts are coin finished. Gold washed single trigger break crisply at five pounds for both pulls. A tang mounted safety/selector makes barrel selection on the fly quick and instinctive. The Walnut furniture comprises a trap style fore-arm and stock, both showing nice figure and gloss finish. A pistol grip stock with long tang gives this shotgun a great profile and all capped with a makers vented recoil pad. What a classic. Enjoy.
