***SOLD*** Rare Browning Grade III Superposed 12 ga. which was factory engraved by Felix Funken, widely considered to be among Browning's finest and most coveted engravers of the period, with his signature clearly struck on both side panels. It has been skillfully executed in an elaborate "Fighting Cocks" pheasant motif.
S/N 56504 made in Belgium in1958. All internal components have matching S/Ns.
98-99% original bluing and wood finish.
The wood has a beautiful medium honey color and is nicely grained, with superb fine line checkering.
Desirable round knob, long tang configuration (RKLT).
30" special steel barrels are choked Full and Full, wearing a matted ventilated rib with white Bradley front bead and no mid bead. 2 3/4" chambers.
Single select, gold plated trigger. Automatic ejectors.
14 1/4" LOP to edge of horn buttplate, with approximately 1 7/16" DAC, 1 3/4" DAH.
Mirror bores and crisp mechanics with the lever falling right of center.
A very beautiful and difficult to find Browning Grade III.
