The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under doubleguns in history and one of John Browning’s most brilliant designs. Produced in plain-jane field grades to the most elaborately engraved and finely stocked shotguns ever seen, production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when traditional production stopped. Browning had a catalogue of Superposed guns defining the grades, adornments available, and custom options that could be had. The overall beauty of each gun, the hand-fit features found in each example, has made the Superposed a highly sought after, investment quality firearm, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU FIND A SUPERPOSED THAT IS A “ONE AND ONLY EXAMPLE” AND TRULY UNIQUE IN THE WORLD OF HIGH-END BROWNINGS. Our Browning Superposed featured here, snT115, was built in 1980 by Fabrique Nationale Herstal (the maker of all Browning Superposed) as a tribute and celebration of Liege, Belgium’s 1000 year anniversary. This unique, one-of-a-kind Superposed Combination Exhjibition gun was discovered quite by circumstance in 1982 by a Browning dealer visiting the FN plant as described in the letter shown with the photos of this gun. Built as a combination gun with a rifle barrel under chambered in 9.3 x 74, and a 20ga. barrel over, this gun remains in new, unfired condition and includes the original box with correct end label, original shipping invoice, and the documenting letter. READ THE INCLUDED LETTER TO GET THE FULL PICTURE OF HOW THIS GUN ENDED UP IN THE USA, AVAILABLE FOR SALE, AND NOW READY TO ADD TO YOUR COLLECTION. The hand-engraved action is elaborate and fullY covered, with a gold shield on the bottom of the action noting the 1000-year celebration. The long tang trigger guard is equally embellished as is the forend iron. The wood is perfectly fitted to the action and is exquisitely figured French Walnut with a hand-rubbed oil finish. ALL METAL AND WOOD IS FACTORY ORIGINAL FINISHES AND 100%. The gun is tight as new, bore is perfect, as are the screws and checkering. The specifics of the gun are noted in the tables below. The double triggers are crisp and the gun is fitted with a fold down leaf sight at the rear. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a Browning Superposed that is definitively 1 of 1 in existence. This gun would provide some interesting opportunities in the field as well. Thanks for looking!
