Browning A-5 Prototype
Description:
Absolutely stunning Prototype,...1of 3...,mentioned in M. Eastman`s book. Discussed with Master Engraver at Tulsa many years ago and he remembered Andre working on this in early 1970.Tried to sell at Rock Island s last year, and MY reserve was too high. That said.....Believe it needs to be in a new home. All inquiries will be answered. The A-5 guy should have this and I`m pricing to sell. Please look at all pics and I`ve included the spread from as part of description. This gun was offered to Dealers as a promotional incentive. Most sells of the 2 Millionth Series....won the gun.I have an original mailing from Browning to dealers.....Really nice piece for the discerning collector.Has case, brochure and some extras. All shipping and Insurance is buyers responsibility.Good luck.FYI. No mars ,just reflections...No metal problems anywhere...A slight indentation where knob of stock was in Light Twelve case. The frame of gun is a bit larger ,minimal, than the final Light twelve configuration.... The protos were done before they even knew what they were gonna mass produce... Anthony V. and I both agreed on this years ago...Please take note..... after many opinions and inquiries.....for the record..... The amount of gold work, amount of detail and serial no.all lends credence to my listing description..... As with anything from Browning....As Homer Tyler used to say often....Never Say Never...when talking about what was made and wasn`t made.I can only speak from memory and the discussions with Real engravers with Browning, never once refuted the belief that this is a prototype.... Who knows but Andre Watrin.... I`m not going to beat myself up over this beautiful piece... If someone wants a one-off with plenty of gold...Buy it.... Good luck....SOLDSOLDSOLD....Really nice when two people need the same thing.... Thanks GInt`l
