Browning Citori, Grade 6, Four-Barrel Skeet Set with 12, 20, and 28 gauge barrels, a .410 barrel, and the Original Carry Case
Description: Browning Citori, Grade 6, Four-Barrel Skeet Set with 12, 20, and 28-gauge barrels, a .410 barrel, and a single gold trigger. Barrels are all 28-inch. The metal portions of the gun, except the barrels, are adorned with a floral pattern and with gold-colored animal scenes (three ducks taking to flight on the right side of the box, two pheasant taking to flight on the left side, a hunting dog on the bottom, a quail in flight on the bottom of the trigger guard). The year of manufacture is 1987. LOP is 14 ¼ inches. The drop at comb is 1¾ inch; the drop at the heel is 2¼ inches (measured to heel of recoil pad). Serial numbers on each barrel, forend, boxlock tang all match. The overall condition of the stock and forend is 98+ percent. The high-gloss finish on the walnut stock and forend has a small amount of minor nicks, along with few line dents and a couple very shallow scratches. As near as I can tell, the only place where the finish on the stock is penetrated is on the left side of the stock where the stock meets the recoil pad, about two inches from the toe of the stock. Here there is a half-inch chip. The forend has a ¼-inch chip on the right side, about three inches from the rear end of the forend. All the checkering on both the stock and forend is deep and crisp, with no mars or other damage to any checkered surface. The metal on the boxlock and tang are 98 percent, showing no wear to the blued surfaces or to the animal figures. There are a couple tiny nicks (1/32 inch) on the forward edge of the boxlock on the right side. Though the animal figure show no wear, marks, or other damage, there is some darkening of the edges of the ducks, pheasants, and quail and on most of the dog, probably due to handling. There is a small amount of bluing wear on the back of the top lever, on the safety/barrel-selector switch, and on the back of the trigger guard. The screws of the tail of the trigger guard are a little dinged like they have been removed once or twice, but not often. I am not aware of any modifications or repairs to this gun. The conditions of all barrels are practically 100. The 12-gauge barrel is the only exception here; it has some scratches caused by and hidden by the forend. The other barrels are equipped with wood panels on either side to protect from forend scratching. The panels do have a few dents, but very few. All bores are in excellent condition - bright and shiny. The rubber Browning recoil pad definitely shows some age and wear. While the rubber is still supple, it is beginning to show some crinkling and a small amount of cracking among the recoil elements. There is wear all the way around the recoil pad, but especially on the toe. The access holes to the recoil pad screws are a bit jagged. Descriptions of the barrels follow: Matching 28-inch skeet barrels, each with 2¾-inch chambers, extractors, ventilated rib, front and mid-sight beads, extractors, and serial number matching the lock box and forend. All top barrels are stamped as follows: Left side: 1st line: BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. (2nd line) 2nd line: MADE IN JAPAN Right side: SPECIAL STEEL 12GA - 2 ¾ - 28 INCH The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better. The buyer pays shipping and insurance. We can discuss shipping methods. Normally, I use U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Priority as it has proven the best method for most transactions. And I recommend USPS Money Orders for payment, as they are like cash, and I do not have to wait for them to clear the bank. I will take a personal check, a bank check, a cashier’s check, or other types money orders. However, in all of those cases, including cashier’s checks, I will hold the gun until the check or other-type money order clears my bank. Check or money orders must be made out to Jerry Pownall. Per the USPS , insurance is $9.70 for the first $600 plus $1.45 for every additional $100.00 or fraction thereof of the declared value. Maximum USPS insurance is $5,000). If you wish to contact me, please "Email Seller". I will answer your questions, explain the purchase and transfer process, and provide my mailing address. I am available any time, except Friday evenings and Saturdays. I will return emails Saturday evening. SOLD |
