1946 Browning Auto 5 twenty gauge shotgun.

This is an American made browning from the war time era 1940-1946 when Browning contracted with Remington to manufacture Auto-5's for the market since FN was invaded by Germany. These Remington produced A5's are a little different than their FN cousins as they share most parts/attributes to the Remington Model 11. Approximately 11,000 were produced in 20ga making it a little less common than some. 
I kept this one around in the collection because it is a great representation of a glimpse of the history of the Auto-5. 

The gun is in great shape for its age. The metal exhibits some bluing loss and carry wear but no rust or pitting. 

It sports its original 26" full choke matte rib barrel with 2 3/4" chamber. Barrel serial number matches receiver serial. 

The wood is in good shape with what I believe to be its original finish. The stock shows evidence of a slip on recoil pad as it has some discoloration towards the factory Browning buttplate. The forearm is in great shape with no cracks and has the original guide dowels still in tact. The stock does have two small pieces missing near the lower tang/trigger guard. 

Overall a clean gun to be 80 years old that shoots and operates as it should.
