It is a well-balanced over/under boxlock with a silver nitride–finished receiver, gold single selective trigger, strong timed ejectors, and a non-automatic safety. The action is smooth, locks up tight, and the trigger breaks cleanly, making it mechanically excellent. The receiver is finely decorated with factory game scene engraving. The left side shows two pheasants flushing from a field, framed in scroll, while the right side depicts two ducks lifting from a marsh, also with scroll surrounds. The underside is scroll-engraved and carries the “525” banner. Barrels measure 28" and retain 98% of their original blued finish. They are threaded for Browning Invector choke tubes and are accompanied by an improved cylinder and modified choke. The rib is a matted ventilated design with a silver front bead for a clean sighting plane. Stocked in walnut with strong grain, the gun features a pistol grip with sharp checkering and a schnabel forend, giving it a classic field-ready profile. Length of pull measures 13.625" to a black rubber recoil pad, drops are 1.5" at comb and 2" at heel, and overall weight is 6 lbs 13 oz. The bores are clear, and handling marks on the stock and forend are minimal, consistent with careful use. A very nice example of Browning’s Citori 525 in the increasingly desirable 28 gauge, this gun combines elegant engraving with excellent handling—equally at home in the upland fields or as a refined addition to any collection.
