Offered here is a very fine classic Browning BS-S side by side shotgun in desirable 20 gauge. SN 31665 this shotgun appears to have been made in the 1960s and is excellent condition. It chambers 2-3/4" and 3" shells, has a solid rib, ejectors and was made by Browning's overseas partner in Japan.
The Browning B-S/S was made in Japan by Miroku  1972–1983 for the 20 gauge. Much of the BSS was manufactured by Miroku Corporation in Japan, known for its high-quality firearms production. It's a top-lever break-open side-by-side (“SxS”) shotgun with a boxlock action (for the standard model). It uses a single (non-selective) trigger.
It has an automatic safety. 20 gauge models, barrel lengths were commonly 26″ or 28″. Improved Cylinder / Modified, or Modified / Full depending on the exact version. This has 26" barrels and we believe that the chokes are MODIFIED AND IMPROVED.  The metal is nicely blued, and the wood is walnut.
The BSS occupies a kind of sweet spot: well-made, reliable, classic side-by-side, but more affordable than very high-end English doubles. As one writer put it, it was “sometimes viewed as ‘the working man’s Model 21.’” The Browning B-S/S (BSS) is well regarded: solid design, reliable, good build quality. This 20-gauge example is especially desirable, because of the gauge and the chambering flexibility (2-3/4″ and 3″).
In excellent condition, it retains all of its finish and has just slight use marks. it is both a capable field gun and a collectible piece.
