The Browning 725 ProSport is one of the most advanced competition shotguns in the Browning lineup, engineered for sporting clays and high-volume target shooting. Manufactured by Miroku of Japan for Browning S.A., the ProSport blends the proven reliability of the Citori platform with a host of modern performance features including a fully adjustable stock, adjustable trigger, barrel weighting system, and High Performance Steel Shot proofed barrels. This 2023 example is an exceptionally complete package, ready for competition right out of the case.
Chambered in 12 gauge with 2.75-inch chambers, the shotgun is fitted with 32-inch steel shot proofed barrels and weighs an ideal 9 pounds for smooth, controlled swings on crossing targets. The barrels utilize the Invector DS choke system and include an extensive selection of factory choke tubes: Cylinder, Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Improved Modified for both steel and lead shot, along with Full and Extra Full chokes for lead shot only. A Browning choke wrench is included. The 12mm to 7.5mm tapering ventilated rib is fitted with interchangeable fiber-optic front sights, including three red, two green, and two white fibers, allowing the shooter to tailor the sight picture to varying lighting conditions.
The shotgun is built on Browning's low-profile 725 boxlock action with an adjustable single selective trigger, ejectors, and non-automatic safety. Mechanically, it remains in very good overall condition. The bores are clear, the trigger is crisp, the action locks up tightly, and the shotgun functions exactly as it should.
The blued receiver is tastefully accented with gold inlays, featuring "ProSport" on either side of the action and "B725 ProSport" on the underside. A gold Browning Buckmark adorns the trigger guard, while the blued barrels carry the CIP Fleur-de-Lis proof, certifying them for High Performance Steel Shot.
The deluxe walnut target stock displays outstanding figure and features Browning's fully adjustable comb for a custom fit. The adjustable trigger provides approximately ±0.5 inch of length-of-pull adjustment, while the right-hand palm swell, sharp checkering, and target forend complete the ergonomic package. The shotgun is currently fitted with a ¾-inch recoil pad, and a 1-inch factory pad is included, allowing the shooter to quickly adapt the fit for different clothing or shooting conditions.
The shotgun comes housed in its original Browning-branded Negrini ABS case and includes an impressive assortment of factory accessories. Inside are the remaining choke tubes, spare fiber-optic sight inserts, spare trigger shoes, barrel weights, stock weights, adjustable comb hardware and washers, Allen keys, and the original accessory kit, making this one of the most complete ProSport packages available.
