Offered here for sale and just acquired is this fine classic Browning over/under 12 gauge shotgun. This shotgun is a  Belgian-made Browning over/under from the transition era between the classic Superposed line and later Japanese Citori production. The serial number format strongly suggests it is an FN/Browning 802-series sporter built by Fabrique Nationale in Belgium.
The serial number code relates to the specimen as a 802 ES Sporter and indicates 1982 manufacture.
Given these features:

• Single selective trigger
• Automatic ejectors
• Tight lockup
• Excellent wood and finish

it that this is a high-quality Belgian sporting/clays gun from the FN Herstal factory period. These guns were built to a very high standard and are widely respected for durability and handling.
Overall the shotgun shows only light wear. Excellent wood. Metal shows all finish. Bores excellent. Locks up tightly. Original finish. Stored for years we have wiped it down for photographing (some image show a bit of oil residue).
Belgian FN Brownings are admired because they trace directly back to the legendary design work of John Moses Browning and the craftsmanship of Fabrique Nationale Herstal. They combine classic Browning balance, stronger modern metallurgy, and practical sporting configurations.
