28 1/8" side by side Nitro proofed blued barrels with scroll engraving on rib and dolls head (has proper British proof marks)
2 1/2" chamber
Concave swamped barrel
Extractor model
Choked Cyl/Mod
Splinter forend with engraved latch including screws with a buffalo horn insert at tip (case hardened on inside with niter blue screws)
126 Strand, London barrel address
Dolls head lock with a double bite
Double trigger
Early 1900 date
Boswell was a best quality maker
Originally a color cased hardened boxlock action that has faded mostly to silver with pointer dog on left side of action pointing pheasants with a beautiful scroll border engraving
Bottom of action is blued with a long tang trigger guard that is highly engraved with rose and scroll including screw heads and trigger guard
Right side of action is a pointer flushing what appears to be grouse with a nice rose and scroll border
Balls of action are engraved with scroll
Traces of color cased hardening remain on action flats
Double border fine checkering on straight English walnut stock
Has Pachmayer decellerator pad
LOP is 14 1/4"
Oak leather and brass bound case included
Double border checkering on stock
A beautiful and lively pigeon or grouse gun ready to be held and utilized
