Charles Daly 12 Ga – PRUSSIAN LINDNER GUN, 1911, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Charles Daly, 1911, 12 Gauge, 7lbs. 8oz., Chokes IC/M, LOP 14 7/16″, DAH 2 1/2″, DAC 1 9/16″ Serial Number: 1903 A rare and wonderful find we have here, a H.A. Lindner made Prussian Daly from the turn of the century (approximately 1910), sn1903, in fine condition marketed by Charles Daly. Engraved with fine English scroll, ejectors, cocking indicators, double underlug locking bolts, hidden cross bolt on the doll’s head extension, barrel lug extending through the receiver, and sideclips, you will not find a gun with more locking devices or bells and whistles than this gun. It even has intercepting safety sears! The H.A Lindner Prussian Daly was considered the best of the offerings by Charles Daly in the heyday of the side x side shotgun and will compare to the finest of English made shotguns with ease. The beauty of these Prussian Daly guns cannot be overstated. Just look at the sculpted frame and breech balls, the detail in the engraving, the scalloped action, the perfect wood to metal fit, tear drop points on the raised side panels, superb checkering, gorgeous Turkish walnut stock terminating in a fine, Purdey style leather covered pad…a truly attractive shotgun. Even the safety button is a work of art! This gun has fit and finish that is just not exhibited in today’s gun world until you hit guns costing 5 times as much as this one. Even the forend latch plate is a work of art and the horn schnabel tip is the finishing touch. The 30” Krupp Steel barrels have mirror bores, fit tight on the hinge pin and breech face, and are choked a versatile IC+/M. We lengthened chambers to 2 ¾” and the forcing cones to 1 ½” tapers, providing better patterns, softer felt recoil to shooter and gun, and allows the use of modern and available ammunition, a $360 service in our shop. At Vintage Firearms, Inc. (VFI) we inspect each gun before purchase, our 3 gunsmiths clean and service each gun as needed. For this Daly, we stripped the action and forend iron to the smallest parts, Ultrasonic cleaned and scrubbed all parts to shiny metal, inspected all for integrity and function, lubricated and reassembled, providing a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, a $375 service in our shop. VFI CERTIFIED GUNS have a 90-day mechanical warranty providing confidence you are buying a fine shotgun that will provide years of service in the field. NONE of the other sellers provide this service. After spending a combined $735 on required alterations and maintenance, there is nothing left to do to this gun but take it to the clays course or on a hunt! This is not a gun that is frequently encountered, and the Lindner guns are highly sought after. A great investment that will grow in value as you enjoy its use chasing game or breaking clays at the next vintage side x side event.
