This is a consecutive matched pair of Cogswell & Harrison 12 Gauge sidelock side-by-sides with serial numbers 40452 and 40453. Both guns feature tight scroll and bouquet engraving, cocking indicators, gold-inlaid “SAFE” on the upper tang, and gold-inlaid numbers (“1” and “2”) on the lever, rib, and forend tip.
The 30" barrels are choked Improved Cylinder & Improved Cylinder, making the pair excellent for walked-up game or driven shooting. The checkered walnut straight-grip stocks have carved drop points and blank initial ovals in the toe line, with a comfortable 16 1/8" length of pull.

Condition is very good plus on both guns with strong original finishes, crisp engraving, bright bores, and tight actions showing only light use.
Housed together in the original maker’s travel case with paperwork, including a 1979 invoice listing the pair at £4,250.
