Cosmi Standard Deluxe Model Semi-Automatic Shotgun 20 ga ... 25" ventilated rib barrel ... LOP 15 1/8" over 1" pad ... DAC 1 3/8" ... DAH 2 3/8" ... LOA 48" ... 7lbs 6oz empty weight ...7+1 capacity.
Cosmi shotguns are unique with their break open, semi auto action that features a 7 round tube magazine in the stock. The barrels are made of Boehler-Antinit steel. Internal parts (including the receiver) are turned from solid blocks of special nickel-chrome steel. Hardened and tempered Boehler steel is used for the receiver. The barrel has a bright excellent bore and is marked "ACCIAIO BOEHLER * ANTINIT". It retains 95% original blue finish which is turning to a plum color. The top part of the action is in very similar condition. The lower action retains 98% of its original chrome-nickel finish with some scattered light surface abrasions. All parts have matching numbers.
Caucasian walnut root wood is used for stocks. The checkered pistolgrip buttstock and forend are of nicely figured European walnut and rate about excellent with 95% original finish remaining and with good strong checkering. The pistolgrip is more of a half pistolgrip and is formed (originally) with a separate piece of wood perfectly spliced into the wrist.
The shotgun is equipped with a leather covered ventilated recoil pad and original sling swivels. The buttstock may have shrunk slightly as there is a tiny even, gap all along the rear of the action.
These shotguns are complicated and extremely expensive to produce. Cosmi is still in business and this shotgun new would be over $15,000.
