Produced in 1978, this break-action semi-automatic shotgun remains in very good condition, with faint wear typical of its age and use. It features a 26.5” barrel with a full choke (.035” restriction) and a vent rib with a silver front bead for precise aiming. Mechanically, it is exceptional, with a crisp trigger, smooth action, and clear bores. The deluxe-grade walnut stock and forend are beautifully crafted, with a flat pistol grip style, strong checkering, and a checkered butt. However, what sets this firearm apart is its breathtaking exhibition-grade engraving. Tomasoni's signature appears twice—once beneath the top lever on the top tang and again on the bottom of the barrel/top receiver underlug. The engraving combines two of the most sought-after styles: relief and bulino. The entire bottom receiver features intricate relief-engraved vine scrollwork, while the left side of the action showcases a detailed bulino-style game scene of six ducks, complemented by additional relief engraving of a fire-breathing dragon. The right side features another bulino masterpiece of a dog pointing at three flushing quail, with matching relief scrollwork and a second fire-breathing dragon. The bottom of the action presents a stunning bulino engraving of six quail in flight, with two falling from a shot, framed by elaborate relief-engraved vine scrollwork and two winged nymphs over a bouquet of roses.
