Custom Winchester Model 42 .410. Serial 30146 has a 26-inch barrel (modified choke, Simmons vent rib with red fiber optic bead, three-inch chamber). Metal finish is an elegant rust blue. STOCK: Formed from an exhibition Turkish blank set, the forearm is dressed with three checkered Muller-bordered panels. The butt has a Winchester grip cap and a recoil pad with leather face. Details of who performed the custom work are lost to history. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 6.6 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.5 inches, drops are 1.5 and 2.4 inches, and cast off is approximately .30-inch. CONDITION: The bore is strong and bright. Mechanics are solid. Metal and wood finishes are each at least 90 percent with modest evidence of being afield. A proper chip is inside the grip at the cap. The price is firm and layaway is available. $2,250 plus shipping.
