John Dickson & Son 12 Bore Round Action Ejector with Profuse Sumner Engraving – No. 1 of a Pair – Long Length of Pull
Description: *** Just in from Scotland *** Handsome and great handling 12 bore John Dickson & Son Round Action Ejector with Sumner floral engraving on the fences and tight Celtic scroll on the action body, trigger guard, and the pendulum forearm release. The Dickson logo is engraved on both sides of the action inside a flowing banner. Recently refurbished in the UK this Round Action is No.1 of a pair and has selective automatic ejectors, auto safety, and double triggers. Dickson serial number 4794 was made in 1895 with patent use number 565. Presented in its leather case with leather maker's label, snap caps, and wooden cleaning rods with tool heads. Weighs 6lb 9oz. You will be proud to uncase this Scottish legend at the range or for a day afield. The 28” nitro sleeved steel barrels are chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells. Rumors to the contrary notwithstanding, low pressure 2-1/2” cartridges are available in the US from Clays Ammo, Game Bore and RST Shells. The barrels are topped by a raised solid concave game style rib. The rib is engraved “John Dickson & Son. 63 Princes Street. Edinburgh”. The barrels were recently re-blacked and the bores are shiny and bright. The right barrel is bored 0.728 with a constriction of 0.010 for Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.030. The left barrel is bored 0.727 and has a constriction of 0.025 for Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.028. The replacement stock and original forearm are made of nicely figured European walnut with a satin finish and ends in a checkered butt. Checkering is crisp. The forearm has a highly engraved pendulum release lever. Stock dimensions are 15” to a checkered butt by 1-3/8” by 1-3/4”. Cast off for the righthand shot.
