John Dickson 20 gauge Round Action

Description:
John Dickson 20 ga. round action, 27" chopper lump barrels with raised game rib.  Choked improved cylinder and modified (.008/.015), 2-3/4" chambers.  An extremely rare example, this diminutive small scale 20 gauge round action is engraved with finest rose and scroll of the period.  Auto ejectors, auto safe, and selective single selective trigger.  Per the factory records this was a damascus barreled gun finished in 1909.  Fitted with with factory new barrels sometime after 1954 along with new stock and for end.  The records also indicate the original single trigger utilized the Westley Richards patent.  This little gun retains a wonderful blush of case color and lovely plum patina on the Johnson's blacked barrels.  The straight stock of highly figured French walnut, lots of black figure over a rich dark honey background.  Measurements are 1-7/16" comb, 2-7/16" heel, 14-5/8" from the rear position singe trigger to checkered butt. Cast about neutral.  Weighs 5 lbs., 9 oz.  Balance at the pin.  About 2000 round actions produced since 1880 only about 30 were other than 12 gauge.  This little beauty is the nicest I have seen in many years.  Cased.
