John Dickson & Son 12 Bore “Waverly” Boxlock Ejector

Nice handling John Dickson & Son 12 bore Anson & Deeley boxlock ejector with sharp engraving, residual case coloring, and good bluing. Dickson serial number 7606 is a Waverly model made in 1959. Double triggers, automatic ejectors, and auto safety. Great mechanical condition and, of course, tight on face. Balances slightly ahead of the center of the hinge pin. Presented in its oak & leather case with leather maker’s label. Easy to carry for a day afield at 6lb 11oz.
The 28” steel barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. It is topped by a raised solid tapered concave gamestyle rib which is inscribed “John Dickson & Son Gunmakers Edinburgh”. Good bluing and the bores are shiny and bright. The right barrel is bored 0.727 with a constriction of 0.007 for a light Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.034. The left barrel is bored 0.729 and has a constriction of 0.037 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.038.
The straight grip stock and splinter forearm are made of nicely straightly figured European walnut. The checkering shows a little wear. Stock dimensions are 14-1/2” to a checkered butt by 1-3/8” by 1-3/4”. Cast off for the righthand shot.
