Antique Scottish made 20-gauge 2-barrel set game shotgun. The 28" nitro proved blacked, round steel barrels (Birmingham Re-Proof 1962) that are fitted with ejectors, 2-1/2" chambers, tapered, smooth concave sunken (swamp) rib with extension third fastener and brass front bead. Chokes are Improved Cylinder and Improved Modified. The right barrel is roll-marked: "JOHN DICKSON & SON" while the left barrel is roll-marked: "21 FREDERICK STREET, EDINBURGH". The 27" nitro proved blacked, round steel barrels are from 1979 with London Proofs that are fitted with ejectors, 2-1/2" chambers, tapered, smooth concave sunken (swamp) rib with extension third fastener and brass front bead. Chokes are Cylinder and Improved Cylinder. The right barrel is roll-marked: "JOHN DICKSON & SON" while the left barrel is roll-marked: "21 FREDERICK STREET, EDINBURGH". The case color harden finished John Dickson Patent Triggerplate Round-Action with assisted opener is adorned with full coverage fine English Arabesque scrolls, JOHN DICKSON & SON PATENT" in banner on both sides of the action body and ribanded fences. The action body is fitted with gold-washed pin type cocking indicators on the top tang, double triggers with smooth blades that are protected by a blacked and engraved trigger guard which extends to a long bottom strap that is scroll engraved with the gun's serial number, the "widows peak" top lever is blacked, engraved and both sides of the thumb piece are checkered, gold-inlaid "SAFE" ahead of the checkered and engraved automatic slide safety. Deluxe quality walnut stock with point pattern checkered straight hand grip with borders, vacant stock oval. Splinter fore-end with wrap-around full coverage matching checkering and Anson type push button release with engraved escutcheon. 14-1/2" LOP to a 3/4" leather covered pad. 5 Lbs. - 6 Oz. with both barrel sets. The gun lives in a toe under Naugahyde vinyl trunk case with canvas cover.
