Famars shotguns rank among the finest ever produced, built exclusively to custom order until the company’s closure in 2012. This example features a round body triggerplate action with the action, trigger guard, toplever, and forend iron finely engraved in classic English scroll. Banners on each side of the action read “ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI,” with “ZEUS” engraved underneath, and “G. SABATTI INC.” signed just ahead of the trigger guard. The serial number is engraved in a banner on the lower tang, with matching numbers on the water table, barrel flat, and forend iron. The left barrel is additionally marked “ABBIATICO & SALVINELLI” near the breech.

The shotgun is fitted with a single bead sight on the smooth concave game rib, 3-inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and chokes gauged modified/modified. It has blue barrels, satin grey furniture, double triggers, and a tang-mounted manual safety. The finely figured walnut stock features multi-point checkering, a straight grip with diamond hand stock, and a checkered bare butt. Dimensions include a 14 1/2-inch length of pull, 1 3/8-inch drop at heel, 1 1/8-inch drop at comb, and an overall weight of 5 lbs. 3 oz.

Accompanying the shotgun is a lightweight leather takedown case with leather corner protectors, straps, and handle, lined in wine-colored velvet with a leather A&S label in the lid. Accessories include a three-piece cleaning rod, a round nickel container with screw-on lid, and three cleaning attachments.

Condition
Near new with only a few minor scratches on the right side of the barrel. The case is fine with a small moderate gouge, and some minor wear and scratches on the exterior, and some minor contact wear on the lining.
