Excellent Late Production Fox Sterlingworth 16GA Savage Arms SXS 1939
Description: Serial #376208, 16 GA (2 3/4"), 28 inch barrels with bright, excellent bores. This is the Fox Sterlingworth model side by side shotgun manufactured by Savage in Utica, NY in 1939. It is in excellent condition retaining about 90-93% original blue finish on the barrels with several small patches of missing finish near the muzzle, scattered light freckling and carry and use marks near the breech. The frame and top lever show perhaps 80-85% of the original vibrant case color fading along the underside to a smoky grey. The checkered walnut stock and forearm are solid with numerous light scratches and contusions from light use. The LOP is 14 1/8" to the original hard rubber butt plate with drops of 1 5/8" and 2 7/8" at the comb and heel respectively. A beautiful, honest, late Fox Sterlingworth that would be a pleasure to take hunting. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Fox Model: Sterlingworth Serial Number: 376208 |
