SAVAGE FOX ~ STERLINGWORTH ~ 20 GAUGE
Description: The Fox Sterlingworth has a long history beginning with Anson Fox. The shotguns have been dubbed the finest shotguns ever made. This one has much of the finish remaining, and shows little rust. It was manufactured by the Savage Firearms Co. and features a Prince Wales grip with what appears to be bakelite butt plate and grip cap. The checkering on the walnut stock is clear, for the most part, but has flattened over the years. The barrel blue is quite nice, and the barrel stamps are sharp. The action locks up tight to the face. All-in-all, this little double twenty should stand up well with any of the carriage trade guns. 20 Gauge Chambers: "2 rounds, 20 gauge, 2-3/4 inch Metal Condition: "Good. Some of the blue/case color remains in the protected areas, but mostly is trending to grey patina. Some 'dimming' of the stamps. Wood Condition: Good. Many fine handling marks and a dig or two. It may have been refinished. Bore Condition: Shiny and bright. Barrels: 28 inches Triggers: Factory double triggers Stock Dimensions: LOP: 14 inches Fore End: Matching walnut splinter. Butt Pad: "Black synthetic, believed to be Bakelite. Weight: 6 pounds Sights: Solid matte rib with silver bead. Chokes: Fixed cyl/cyl Item Location: Rogers Price: $3,049.99 Contact Seller |
