12 GAUGE FOX A GRADE TWO BARREL SET
Description: SOLD PENDING FUNDS----- I purchased this project gun a while back to fix up and shoot but I have decided that the work needed is beyond my capabilities so I am moving it along to someone else who may want it. It is an early Fox A Grade 12 gauge with two barrels. The original Krupp barrels were trimmed at some time to 25 ¼”. They retain chokes of ic/ic. They are in very good condition with no rust and mirror bores. They are #3 weight. The gun must have been sent back to Savage at a later date to be fitted with a set of 28” Fox Savage Barrels, choked M/IM. These barrels are also serialized to the gun. These barrels are also in excellent condition with good bluing and no rust or dents. The bores are mirror bright. As noted in one of my pictures, the original Krupp Barrels are missing the spring and plate that should be on the barrel lug. As a result, they will not snap onto the forend. The gun locks up tight with the 28” replacement barrels and the lever is just right of center. I have not shot it but it fires fine on snap caps, and the automatic safety still works, but it very stiff to put in the firing position. The stock is in rough shape. It has been pinned twice, and a long crack has been glued. There is also a small chip out of the stock at the right side of the tang. I do not know if it can be saved or not, nor do I know if it is safe to shoot in this condition. The lop is 14”, the DAC is 1 ¾” and the DAH is 2 ¾”. The replacement barrels are #1 weight. It comes with what I believe is an original wooden cleaning rod and a leather lace up butt pad. If you would like any more information, just ask. Price is $775 shipped to your FFL. Thanks if looking. I am selling this gun as is, with no right of return. SOLD Manufacturer: fox Model: A Barrel Length: 28 Condition: good Wood Condition: bad Bore Condition: Excellent LOP: 14 1/4 |
