A. H. Fox Philadelphia, PA: AE Grade, 28" 20ga Krupp barrels
Description: This Philadelphia Ansley H. Fox is an early AE grade 20ga with 28” Krupp steel barrels bored improved modified (0.020”) both. It is all original except the forcing cones of the 2 ½” chambers have lengthened to accommodate 2 ¾” shells and the stock has been shortened to 13 ¾” pull over a 1” silver’s pad. Weight is a light 5 lbs. 9 oz. Overall condition is very good. The action retains about 20% faded case colors and is free of any rust or corrosion. The barrels have excellent bores and the blue slightly worn and drifting brown. The stock finish is very good with the usual handling marks and checkering sharp but a little dirty. DC is 1 ½” and DH is 2 5/8”. The fine early engraving pattern is sharp and is more desirable to the person who likes high quality rather than cheap bold full coverage that was introduced about 1918.
