Fox A Grade 12 Ga - PHILLY, 30” #2 WEIGHT, GREAT GUN, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Fox, 1922, 12 Gauge, 7lbs. 3oz., Chokes M/F, LOP 14 1/4″, DAH 3″, DAC 1 5/8″ Serial Number: 28458 THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER FOX A GRADE. THIS FOX CHECKS ALL THE BOXES YOU SHOULD WANT CHECKED! There are always a few 12ga. A Grade Fox guns available to buy, so how do you choose? Do you want to buy just an old gun that you know little about from a stranger on the internet, or do you want to buy a fine vintage shotgun CERTIFIED BY QUALIFIED GUNSMITHS AND AN ESTABLISHED COMPANY WITH A 20 YEAR STELLAR REPUTATION IN THE INDUSTRY? You should know what you are buying and from whom but with most guns for sale on the internet you have nothing to go on but poor photos and anemic descriptions that give you no pertinent information guiding you to an educated decision. Most have had their stocks cut, been poorly restored, heavily used, have buggered up screws, or have characteristics that just don’t fit your needs. Many are a box of shells away from an expensive repair. Buying a Fox that competent gunsmiths have thoroughly inspected and attended to any needed adjustments, a gun that is guaranteed to be in superb mechanical condition, makes the most sense. It is nearly impossible to get quality gunsmithing work on a vintage shotgun these days, so why take a chance on a random internet purchase? This Philadelphia made A.H. Fox A Grade, sn28458 made in 1922, is a special find in several ways. The specifications and configuration of the gun has not changed since the day it shipped and matches the factory records in every way. The gun has been well cared for over its 100 plus years of use, still having perfect screws and wood-to-metal-fit, 65% factory case color on the action, 80% factory charcoal blue on the trigger guard, the full length stock terminating in the factory buttplate, factory chokes, and overall fine condition. All parts are original to the gun; the wood has had finish added over the years and VFI rust blued the barrels to perfection (a $475 service in our shop). The 30” number 2 weight barrels have mirror bores, tight ribs, and fit tight to the hinge pin and breech face. PRESENTLY IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND 2 ½” 12GA. SHELLS. BECAUSE OF THIS, VFI GUNSMITHS HAVE CAREFULLY LENGTHENED THE CHAMBERS TO 2 ¾” AND EXTENDED THE FORCING CONES TO 1 ½” TAPERS SO THAT YOU CAN SHOOT MODERN 2 ¾” HEAVY FIELD LOADS THROUGH THIS GUN. This is a $440 service in our shop. We have put over $900 in services into this gun prior to sale so you don’t have to! Our gunsmiths can make alterations to fit your needs within a week or so of purchase. It might be a “month of Sundays” before you see another A Grade Fox in this condition and completely serviced and ready to go afield. The price of the gun reflects its unaltered factory configuration, superb condition, and the services we have already provided so you can buy with confidence. When you consider all the factors that represent the best value, this gun is a very good buy. Fox guns have been continuously gaining value as you enjoy their use, making this an excellent investment gun. See specifications below. Thanks for looking!
