Fox AE 16 gauge 1922 Philadelphia Gorgeous
Description: A. H. Fox AE Grade 16 Gauge 1922 Philadelphia Description: Fox AE 16ga - 28" Barrels Many shooters and collectors agree, Ansley H. Fox created the best proportioned 16ga. gun made in America when he released his new 16 and 20 gauge. Both were made on a 20 gauge frame and are a joy to handle and shoot. Beginning in 1912 with serial number range 300,000, the early A Grade engraving pattern was a simple border scroll pattern. Shortly after head engraver William Gough came along in 1913 and updated the A grade pattern to the more bold and desirable styling. This Fox AE SN 301626 was made in 1922 and features the more familiar deep vine and foliate style engraving. This lovely 16 gauge weighs 5lbs. 15oz. and balances just ahead of the hinge pin with its 28" number 4 weight Chromox steel barrels. The lovely figured round knob walnut stock has excellent dimensions. This gun has been fully restored with 99% blue and bone/charcoal case color remaining. The barrels are tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face, and this gun has been fully stripped, cleaned, inspected, and lubricated before reassembly. The ejectors, balance, weight, wood figure, rarity, modern stock dimensions, and knock-out overall good looks makes this a very desirable gun for your upland and clay target pursuits. The cost of this gun includes the full restoration (a $4000+ value) and you don’t even have the 1-2 year wait that went with it! Thanks for looking! Specifications Maker: A. H.
