Fox Sterlingworth 16ga – EJECTORS, FACTORY 15 ¼" LOP!, 28” BARRELS, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Fox, Year 1934, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 8oz, Chokes IC/M, LOP 15 1/4", DAH 3 3/16", DAC 1 11/16" Serial Number: 370540 Most are aware that the Fox 16ga. guns are built on the 20ga. frame much like the coveted Parker 16ga. on the “O” frame that everybody prefers for the upland pursuits (the “O” frame was designed by Parker for their 20ga. guns). Fox Sterlingworth 16ga. guns are generally the lightest of the vintage American 16ga. double guns made. Upland bird hunters will recognize this Fox Sterlingworth as a very special Fox. You will see many Sterlingworth guns offered for sale as they made a lot of them. However, you will see scant few with ejectors, as this was an expensive option. Additionally, this Fox is unusual because it has a FACTORY ORIGINAL BUTT STOCK WITH 15 1/4" LOP! TALL GUYS TAKE NOTE! You will never see another one. This Fox, sn370540 made in 1934, is one of the hard-to-find Sterlingworth Ejector guns that is in superb condition, with 96% factory blue on its 28” number 3 weight barrels choked IC/M, mirror bores, barrels tight on breech face and hinge pin like a new gun, tight ribs, perfect screws, superbly restored wood with a hand-rubbed Truoil finish, perfect checkering, and crisp mechanics. The action retains 60% factory case color that is fading. THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN WITH A 90 DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY. The action and forend iron were stripped to their smallest part, cleaned in the Ultrasonic cleaner, scrubbed and inspected for function and integrity, properly lubricated and reassembled. This is a $275 service in our shop. The gun weighs 6lbs. 8oz. and is balanced dead on the hinge pin, even with the long stock. Look at the photos and you will see a very clean Fox for you’re upcoming season. This is a quick handling, graceful Fox that would be a pleasure to carry on those long days afield marching over hill and dale trailing after your favorite bird dogs. You won’t see another Sterlingworth Ejector gun with a long LOP, so don’t miss out on this one. You have the perfect investment grade gun that will be a joy to use afield while it appreciates in value. Thanks for looking!
