Sterlingworth guns in 20ga. are seen often enough.  Anybody who has watched the market realizes the value is being discovered, the price has gone up significantly in the last few years, with the nice Fox 20ga. guns being bought up, thereby reducing the available guns on the market.  This Philly gun, sn257285 built in 1925  is NOT one of the normal Fox Sterlingworths.  First, this is an ejector gun, a very hard to find option on a Sterlingworth,  Even more rare, the gun wears a factory Fox/Kautzky single selective trigger (one of the best single triggers ever), something you almost never see on a Sterlingworth.   In the world of 20ga. Fox guns, this gun has the best of features; SST, EJECTORS, AND 28" BARRELS.  This is a very nice gun for field and clays, weighing just 5lbs. 11oz. and balanced 1/8" ahead of the hinge pin.  The gun is very attractive, with professionally rust blued barrels, excellent bores, nicely restored wood with recut checkering, excellent wood to metal fit, double ivory beads, action tight with lever way right of center, strong well timed ejectors, crisp trigger mechanism, 50% factory case color, excellent screws, perfect mechanics, a gun just ready for another few generations of use.  .  The stock measures 13 1/4" LOP from the rear trigger position (the length of the stock is exactly the same as a two trigger gun with a 14 1/4" LOP, the wood is not short.  If you don't get it, ask.  We can add a vintage pad to lengthen the LOP to 14" from the rear trigger position if needed within 10 days of purchase), drop at heel 2 7/8", drop at nose of comb 1 5/8", neutral cast.  We can bend the stock to your specs within 10 days of purchase for $200 additional cost.  It has been years since I have seen a Fox 20ga. Sterlinworth with both ejectors and a single selective trigger, and this is a really nice one.  Take a close look and you will see a very special little Fox...light as a feather, perfectly balanced, nicely optioned.  Thanks for looking.
