Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer the iconic SPAS-12. The SPAS-12 has managed to capture the imagination of countless people, having been featured in all kinds of classic media, like Jurassic Park, The Terminator, Brazil, The Matrix, Call of Duty, and Miami Vice, to name a few. Franchi designed the S.P.A.S. (Special Purpose Automatic Shotgun) specifically for law enforcement and military use, leading to the rugged combat shotgun we see today. The SPAS-12’s unique looks flow downstream from this approach; it features a unique double operating system allowing the user to switch between a gas operated semi-auto mode and pump action. The purpose of which allows the use of less lethal or specialty rounds all while also the option for rapid semi-auto, all without risking reliability issues. The unique top folding stock features a large metal hook protruding from the toe, the purpose of which is to allow for one handed shooting out of vehicles, it also doubles as a carry handle when folded. The SPAS-12 has seen use several conflicts including The Troubles, Myanmar Civil War, and the Lebanese Civil War. However, after 1994 the SPAS-12 was hit by the Assault Weapons ban leading Franchi to change the acronym to Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun and produce limited capacity variant with a fixed stock – making the folding stock variants a premium collector’s item. This example, serial number AA20594, produced in 1989 by Franchi, features the updated push button safety, the original SPAS-12 safeties tended to fire if the safety was engaged and if a round was chambered (less than ideal). Overall, it’s in superb condition, as it retains 97%+ factory parkerized finish on all parts. The 21 1/2” barrel is choked cylinder and has a mirror bore; it’s fixed with a front post and rear peep sight. Most notably this is a pre ban version, so It’s fitted with the iconic folding metal stock with the hooked arm brace/carry handle and extended magazine tube. Included with this Hollywood icon is its multi tool, and some spare parts including an extra buffer pad. A perfect choice for any Hollywood weapons collector, or for your upcoming raptor hunt.
