This is a 12 ga with 2-1/2" chambers. A boxlock shotgun with the Greener style cross-bolt locking system. A handsome looking gun with 30" bbls. Beautiful Damascus pattern on these bbls that have aged to a pleasing brown color. VG condition both inside and out. Good solid bbls that have the famous "Damascus ring". Francotte is noted for having very fine firearms. This is an early gun with beautiful tight delicate engraving that pretty much completely covering the metal. The bolsters have rather elaborate relief engraving. All metal is in very nice condition. Wood also is exceptional and nice fitting with no cracks or losses. Superb checkering is still very sharp. Don't know if it has been re-cut but would have had to be a Master if it was. Wood looks like it has had a coat of something hand rubbed in years ago. Buttplate looks orig with just a couple little dings and one light crack coming off the bottom screw. Nothing missing. Fine shotgun!
