Description: #17250, Franz Sodia - Ferlach: A 16 x 16 x 7x65R 1972 Drilling Made by Franz Sodia 26" Bohler Super Blitz steel barrels with a Rib Extension with a Cross Bolt at .673 .029 & .034" (Full & Full), Original 2 3/4" chambers, 1 leaf folding rear sight that is actuated with the top tang rifle barrel selector, Double underlugs with double bite, Side clip action body, Bushed strikers on all 3 barrels, Set trigger on the front, Left side mounted safety, Steel trigger guard, Sling swivels, Cheekpiece, 14 3/16 x 1 1/2 x 3" over a hard buttplate, 6 lbs. 10 oz.; 90% coverage of game scene engraving dedicated to the Stag and Roebuck, 96% original blue on the barrels, The wood has original finish and is as sound as new and about 95% finish, The shotgun bores and the rifle bore remain in excellent plus condition and are as bright and shiny as they were in 1972. The gun is smack on the face and is in super nice mechanical condition. Franz Sodia was established in 1874 and moved to Ferlach in 1910. Franz Sodia passed away in 1935 and his son, also Franz Sodia, carried the business forward through some tough economic times and WWII. In 1974 about 70 to 75% of all guns made by this firm were exported. In 1981, the Austrian Minister of Trade awarded the company the national honor to carry the Austrian national coat of arms in business dealings.
