Antique W.W. GREENER Double Barrel Side x Side HAMMERLESS Damascus Shotgun
Treble Wedge Fast
Description: Antique W.W. GREENER Double Barrel Side x Side HAMMERLESS Damascus Shotgun Treble Wedge Fast Here we present a W. W. Greener Double Barrel Side by Side Hammerless Shotgun in 12 Gauge, manufactured circa 1894 in Birmingham, England. William W. Greener was a member of the second generation family which had been involved with gunmaking from 1829 to the present day. He served his apprenticeship with John Gardner in Newcastle prior to working for Joe Manton, who was probably the best gunmaker in England in the early 1800s. In 1829 he set up his own shop in Newcastle making percussion muzzle loading sporting and military shotguns and rifles, as well as harpoon guns for the Dundee Whalers. However, he found it difficult to obtain the best materials, so he moved to Birmingham in 1844 where Greener Gunmaking has remained ever since. This piece features 30” barrels with extractor. Chambers measure 3 inches. The serial number on the trigger guard tang is followed by “List No. 57”. The underside of the barrels are Birmingham proofs with elephant trademarks. The breech end of the barrel is marked “TREBLE WEDGE FAST” in an oval, referring to his lock system. The butt stock is very smooth and nicely figured. It has been extended. The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Clear markings and engraving. The numbers match throughout. The actions are excellent. The bores are shiny bright and smooth. The left muzzle’s choke has been opened. The stock is smooth and solid. A very nice gun. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels: 30 inches. Caliber: 12 Gauge Chambers: 3 inches with extractors Chokes: Modified/Modified Length of Pull: 14-1/2 inches Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2595 #220139 SOLD Antique: Yes |
