This Belgian-made side-by-side muzzleloader represents the refined transition of firearms technology in the late nineteenth century, reflecting the esteemed tradition of European gunmaking. Designed as a sophisticated percussion hammergun, this 14-gauge model showcases the functional elegance and craftsmanship required for classic field use.

This exceptionally elegant example features deeply chiseled grapevine and scroll engraving throughout, paired with outstanding Damas Bernard Crolle Damascus barrels that transition from octagon to round at a decorative Wedding Band. The straight English walnut stock is configured with a cast for the left-handed shooter and includes a noted repair at the toe, while the concave rib retains its striking gold Damas Bernard damascened ornamentation.

Complete with its high-condition ramrod and an engraved steel buttplate, this hammergun remains in a notable state of preservation with much of its original browning intact. Weighing 6 lbs 11 ½ oz, the piece handles with a crisp mechanical feel and requires no modern license due to its 1898 manufacture date.
