EM REILLY 12 GAUGE HAMMER - A LONDON BEST MAKER - ANTIQUE - STANTON TEAR DROP LOCKS
Description: Edward Michael (EM) Reilly was a London best maker located on the same street in London as James Purdey. In fact they occupied the same address, though not at the same time. Based on the New Oxford Street address on the top rib this gun was made in the 1883-98 time frame. The gun has the highest quality bar action locks offered at the time, Stanton "Tear Drop Locks". I have attached some close up photos of the internal locks. Hammers are rebounding. Highly polished, springs, sears and bridles with original case color. The gun features 30" barrels with 1/4 and IC chokes, mirror bores and 2 3/4" chambers. Right barrel measures .729 while the left is .727. Tight on face / no loose ribs / no cracks to wood. Nice engraving on the receiver, no case color as the finish is a gun metal gray. Weight is 7 LBS 8 3/4 OZ. Gun is fully functional with crisp trigger pulls. Nicely figured wood. LOP is 13 7/8". Drop at comb - 1 7/8". Drop at heel - 3". As an antique this gun can be shipped directly as local law allows. Shipping by Priority Mail for $75. SOLD Antique: Yes Shotgun Gauge: 12 Gauge |
