*** SOLD *** This beautiful Hussey hammer pigeon gun has 30” barrels and rebounding hammers that, when cocked, rest below the line of sight. Fully engraved in Best Foliate Scroll. Stocked in a piece of nicely figured walnut it weighs 7lb 14oz and is a joy to handle. *** The 30” extractor barrels are topped by a raised, smooth concave rib which is inscribed “H. J. Hussey Ltd. 81 New Bond Street London” and are chambered for 2-3/4” cartridges. The right barrel is bored 0.732 with a constriction of 0.017 choke for Light Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.028. The left barrel is bored 0.733 and has a constriction of 0.036 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.029. There is evidence of minor pitting that has been polished out in both barrels. The barrels were nitro proofed in London for 1-1/4oz loads. *** The straight hand stock and splinter forearm are made from nicely figured walnut. The checkering shows some wear. The stock has a number of handling marks including three dents on the left side but all can easily be raised and repaired. The stock is overall sound. Stock dimensions are 1-3/8” by 2-1/4” by14-1/2” to a checkered butt. Cast off for the right hand shot. *** Hussey was a great maker and this gun would be ideal on the pigeon rings or for sporting clays. Would also make a good pheasant gun.
