Manhattan Arms Co. Double Hammer Gun 12 gauge
Description: Serial #614, 12 Ga. (2 1/2"), 30" barrels with good, lightly freckled bores. This is a Belgian-made shotgun with extensive post-1896 "(Crown) / E / LG" proofs on the barrels. The barrels themselves retain 40-50% of the original blue turning plum-brown, and exhibiting some mottled gray starting to form on the faded areas. The action and sideplates have a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening still present, with the balance turned to a mottled gray patina. The checkered, splinter forend and pistol-grip buttstock are in very good condition with scattered small handling marks and blemishes throughout the old, added oil finish. A blank, shield-shaped escutcheon is inlaid into the butt of the grips, and the length-of-pull measures 13" with drops of 2" and 3" respectively. The lock-up is tight, with the barrels remaining on-face, and the locks are both fully functional. This is a nicely made Belgian import shotgun, and is in very good plus condition overall.
