The factory letter tells us that this behemoth was ordered by a E.G. Bucker on May 13th 1891.
The condition is excellent. Only some very light pitting in the massive thick bores which could easily be removed or used as is. The locks and hammer retain over 50% case color. From a gun from 1891 this is remarkable and a sign it has seen very little use. The wood is in nice condition also featuring no cracks or repairs that we can determine. The screws are all excellent including the screws in the original Parker dogs head butt plate which appears to have never been removed. The top lever is the sought after snaked style.
If you like big guns this is the gun for you. When I first unpacked it I thought it was an 8g. !
Barrel\'s weigh 6 lbs. 6 oz. action and forend 4 lbs. 13 1/4 oz. 11 lbs. 3 1/4 oz. total bores left .797 and right .799 *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 4285 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection.
