Hi-Standard built 20 gauge Supermatic Deluxe Auto with vent rib and built-in adjustable choke - marked “SEARS - TED WILLIAMS” in excellent condition
Description: Specifications: Gauge 20 2 3/4" and 3" Shells Weight 7 pounds Length of pull 14" Drop at Comb 1 5/8" Drop at Heel 2 ½" Barrel Length 27" with Rib Length Overall 47" Finish Blue Choke Built-in - Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full This gun was made at a time in the sixties when Sears had a controlling interest in Hi-Standard. It bought guns for resale from various manufacturers and had the Sears brand put on them. Sears usually bought the high end version of any gun with the extra features that customers wanted and then sold it at a very competitive price. In this case Sears bought the Hi-Standard Supermatic Deluxe with the ventilated rib, wood checkering and adjustable choke with the Ted Williams name and Model 75 stamped on the gun instead of HI-Standard name and model. The adjustable choke (picture 11) is especially nice. As it is built-in you don’t have to worry about keeping track of separate choke tubes. Picture number 7 shows the “High” “Low” switch on the front of the for end stock. This fine tunes the gas operated recoil system for either light (target) loads or the heavier hunting loads. The only difference between a Hi-Standard Supermatic 20 gauge and a Ted Williams Model 75 is the name on the barrel. If ever needed, parts and a schematic are available from gunpartscorp. Picture number 12 shows the Hi-Standard Supermatic listed in Gun Digest for 1971. For $182.92 you got the most expensive 20 gauge Supermatic Deluxe. I bought this gun at Sears back in the sixties. This gun has been shot maybe 200 times. It is in like new condition as can be seen from the pictures. Buy this gun now at the bargain price of only $390 plus $50 packaging and shipping in the lower 48. Try to send funds via U.S. postal money order. You can also use other money orders or a personal check however this will delay shipment until the instrument clears. Please enclose a copy of the FFL to where it is being shipped.
