English made 16 gauge sideplated boxlock game shotgun. The 27 Inch blacked round nitro-proved replacement barrels circa 1979 are chambered for 2-1/2" cartridges, fit with a smooth concave game rib with extension and a brass bead front sight. The barrels are choked Improved Cylinder and Modified. The action body is adorned with bold foliate scrolls with 'Holland & Holland' in a banner on both the right and left sides. The top rib is roll marked 'NEW BARRELS FOR HOLLAND & HOLLAND GUN NO 21102' and a gold inlaid '1'. The rear of the trigger guard has a gold inlaid '1' as does the forend escutcheon. "Gold-inlaid 'SAFE' ahead of the scored and engraved slide safety. The action is fit with an internal cross-bolt third fastener and double triggers that are protected by an engraved trigger guard extending to a long engraved bottom strap. The straight hand gripped best quality walnut stock is equipped with drop points, an engraved stock oval and finished to a checkered butt with a 15-1/8" LOP and cast off 3/8" at face. The splinter forend has an Anson style push button release. Gun resides in the maker's single leather case.
