This elegant Holland & Holland Royal sidelock 20 Gauge carries wonderful provenance. Holland & Holland records show the gun was built in 1898 for Miss Ramsay as a 16 gauge. It was later resold in 1931 to Mr. Draw and has since been expertly re-sleeved and reproved to 20 gauge.
The sidelock action is profusely engraved and fitted with cocking indicators. Gold “No. 1” inlays on the top lever and rib confirm it as the first gun of a matched pair. The 28" barrels are choked Skeet & Skeet, ideal for driven or walked-up shooting. The nicely figured walnut straight-grip stock measures 14 1/8" LOP with 1 5/8" DAC, 2 3/4" DAH, and 12mm cast-off at the heel.
Condition is very good-plus with an older professional refinish. The engraving remains sharp and attractive, and the gun is mechanically excellent.
