The
Model 615 / 615AS is part of Husqvarna’s later SxS evolution:
- Boxlock design (Anson & Deeley type)
- Ejector version (the “AS” typically indicates ejectors vs extractors)
- Built for durability over ornament
- Often supplied with tight chokes (Full/Modified is typical)
These were
working guns—very popular with Scandinavian farmers and hunters. This is a classic
upland / general hunting configuration.
“100% blue on barrels” it was used but kept in excellent storage.
Husqvarna was founded in
1689 in Huskvarna, Sweden, originally a
royal arms factory producing muskets for the Swedish military . It transitioned in
19th–20th century to sporting rifles and shotguns and produced firearms
from the 1800s through the 1960s–70s . It became known for:
- Solid engineering
- Affordable, rugged sporting guns
- Less ornate than British doubles, but very functional
The firearms division
ceased around 1970 and production rights and tooling were sold. Later the company shifted focus and today i
s known for:
- Chainsaws
- Outdoor power equipment
- Lawn & garden machinery
- Construction tools
They’re now one of the
largest outdoor equipment manufacturers in the world.
During our operations abroad in the 1960s we were able to acquire a large number of firearms parts from this fine manufacturer.
